About Yue Bai Wei 悅百味
Unique Chinese/Szechuan Style
Located at 5874 Forbes Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15217, Yue Bai Wei 悅百味 operates as a chinese restaurant serving Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11 am–9:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Yue Bai Wei 悅百味 at (412) 586-4813; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is yuebaiweipgh.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Its Google rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 186 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.
Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Pittsburgh follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The neon glow of Pittsburgh’s streets fades away, replaced by the heavy, fragrant heat of a bustling Beijing alleyway. H-Hhnnng...! My chopsticks plunge into a rustic plate of red and gold at Yue Bai Wei. As the first morsel of the Pan-Seared Tomato Egg touches my tongue, time fractures. Suddenly, I am back beneath the sweltering Beijing sun. The eggs are pillowy, custard-soft clouds kissed by a roaring wok, while the tomatoes are seared to the edge of caramelization, releasing a sun-drenched acidity that cuts through the savory depth. Clack. My chopsticks drop as my shirt seams burst apart in a shockwave of pure culinary nostalgia—I haven't tasted a tomato egg this authentic since I crossed the Xuanwu Gate. Barely recovering, I dive into the Baby Bok Choy with Mushrooms. The bok choy holds a vibrant emerald crunch, painted in a glossy glaze. BOOM! An explosion of umami detonates across my taste buds. The mushrooms release wave after wave of deep, forest-floor resonance, wrapping around my senses like a velvet shroud as I am carried aloft on the wings of pure, unadulterated flavor. Then comes the final trial: the Mapo Tofu. Crimson pools of chili oil and scorched doubanjiang writhe

Yue Bai Wei serves up some of the best Chinese food around, and it’s absolutely worth the trip. The cumin beef is the standout — salty, spicy, garlicky, and bursting with flavor. Every bite packs a punch, and it’s the dish I’d recommend most. Service was fast and genuinely hospitable, which made the experience even better. The only downside was parking — a little tough to find a spot. But honestly, once you’re inside and the food hits the table, you’ll agree it’s more than worth the hassle. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic, flavorful Chinese food.
